Freeskier Celebrates Simon’s World Record

As if a cover wasn’t enough, Freeskier Mag threw a party for Simon Dumont celebrating his insane feat of breaking the world record for height off a quarterpipe.

After all, it’s not everyday you meet someone with a legit world record. Simon boosted 35.5 feet above the lip of the quarterpipe, throwing in a 900 with a tail grab. Are you kidding me? The record was previously held by snowboard legend, Terje who claimed 32 feet and a backside 360 method in 2007.  Prior that, the record was held by Heikki Sorsa. Congrats on a World Record Simon and thanks to Freeskier for the support!

Jacob Wester Wins Freestyle.ch

Swedish skier Jacob Wester won the Freestyle.ch this weekend in Zurich, Switzerland. This being the first big event of the year and also held in Europe means we wont have pictures or video until next week. Stay tuned as they should be well worth the wait.
